One of the members of the FTDNA R1a project (#407716 from Iraq) seems to belong to a very rare subclade/sublineage under M420, which means his lineage diverged very early on (or close to the root of the R1a tree).
The best way to reconstruct his exact position in the R1a tree and to determine his relationship to all known members of the relatively rare clade R1a2 (or R1a-YP4141) is to order the Big Y test. However, he is not able to pay the whole sum, and although he will get some support from the Iraqi project and R1a project (plus the $75 discount coupon), we still need $150 to get him tested with Big Y.
In case any of you is willing to help us to collect the remaining sum, please make a donation to the R1a project's General Fund:

Every dollar counts, so even a relatively small contribution will be more than welcome.
