 The time has come to trade my car in for a new one. I know its only a lump of metal and not the car I wanted in the first place but I have became very attached to it.

The new car will be here next week I will feel quite sad when I hand my old car over :car:

I don't think I've ever been really "emotionally attached" to my car. However, my wife's always named her cars, and "our" cars. Not sure if that means anything. Maybe it's an extension of whatever allows us to bond with our pets?

I hope you enjoy your new car!

Never been happier about transport since moving to HK and getting rid of the need for a car altogether. That said, I was a little sad to sell my zippy little Honda that I'd had for only two years that was so nice to drive compared to the wheezy old Mercury that I had driven for the previous sixteen. Mostly, I think I was sad because I had waited that long to get a fuel efficient vehicle with a CD player (I had worn all decent cassette tapes out--which was the only thing the Mercury took).

I love my truck!
I ride higher than most vehicles so I can actually see all the traffic around me and not have my vision blocked at an intersection by a caravan/family van, SUV or whatnot.
I can put it into 4 wheel drive and blast through thick high piles of snow
Its large and comfy for a big guy

More along the lines of Basques story, I had my Intrepid for 14 yrs before I got my truck...I did feel a bit sad that it had served me so well and long, but its time had come and, did I mention, I was going to get a nice big 4x4 Truck to replace it?

Hi basque!

Never bought a car or owned one. So I can not well imagine would I be fond of it. It would make some things much easier. But dreaming does cost nothing :):car:

And have a nice Birthday too!
