Produce and detect gravitational fields at will using magnetic fields, control them for studying them, work with them to produce new technologies -- it sounds daring, but Prof. André Füzfa of Namur University has proposed just that in an article published in the scientific journal Physical Review D. If followed, this proposal could transform physics and shake up Einstein's theory of general relativity.

Just to put this into perspective, there is an ongoing crisis in modern physics because of our lack of knowledge about how gravity interacts with the three other fundamental forces(including electro-magnetism).
Creating a gravitational field from a magnetic field would be a huge breakthrough if we can really detect them .
When matter converts some of its energy into mass whether it is by interacting with the Higgs field or by quantum fluctuation in a gluon field it creates what we call gravity or a gravitational field.
The problem is that magnetic fields are made of photons and photons do not have mass even tho they behave like massive particles when traveling through a superconductor which is what this hypothetical experiment is trying to achieve.
