I see. I did not own any teddy bears when I was a child but now I have two Bukowsky smallish mother and daughter bears. But they are not on my bed... and I do not feel immature to own them as this age

As a Child I had dolls but no bears I desperately wanted a bear but never got one, but my brother (mothers favorite) had a bear when he went to sleep at night I would creep into his room and steal his bear, he would wake up later screaming for his bear my mum would snatch it off me and clip me round the ear and give the big cissy his bear back

Anyway I now have lots of bears, quite a few collected from motorway service stations (M6) they all have names and their own personalities. Some of them do sleep in my bed. I am not allowed any more so if I see any I try not to look in their eyes, but sometimes I cant help it.

cool thread!
I have had no stuffed animals since I was a boy, but I remember I had several 'little friends' when I was a kid

my fav. was a black and white teddy bear named 'baby'-my folks used to tell the story that once on a trip to florida, I forgot 'baby' at a hotel we stayed at but did not realize it until we were a few hours away...I guess I howled like a lost soul until my dad (very unhappily) was forced to turn around and go back so we could 'rescue' Baby

I collected several others when I was little, a little dog that looked like 'snoopy' from the Peanuts cartoon, guess what his name was?
there were some others but I don't remember them exactly. I do remember lining them up in my bed in a certain way every night, and they were my protectors from the monsters under the bed... apparently they were good at their job as the creepy crawly's under the bed never got me
