Did they re-run your Geno 2.0 results or did you order a new kit? I'm pretty angry at Genographic. I ordered a 2.0 kit a few weeks before they announced NextGen. I emailed them at the end of last year asking if my results would be re-run. They said yes but it hasn't happened.

As I have only done the next gen and have seen others with the earlier version, curious to know whether geno 2.0 next gen can be converted to earlier format.

I re-ordered, intending to use it for someone else. However, that didn't work out so I just used it on myself to compare to the older test.

The Central Asian reference population is quite confusing as it is high for both Mongolians as well as Pamiri Tajik and seems to combine both East Asian and West Eurasian but not sure how

I have not heard of it, but perhaps you can e-mail the project and see if it is possible?

Central Asian in other groups: Northern India -- 10%, Western India -- 8%, South Indian -- 4%, Iranian -- 4%, Tartar -- 17%, Bengali -- 8%. I assume an Afghan will score ~70% this?

I was expecting to score more like the Western Indian reference population but the references are wildly different now. I score the around the same South Asian as the Iranian reference, but in lieu of Central Asian they have 56% Arabia. The Western Indian population is now 74% Southern Asia.

What are your first 2 reference populations? Bengali I'd guess because of the South East Asian?

The Bengali reference numbers dont seem correct as the Southeast Asian now has less ASI, I have seen results of Malayali guy with only around 4-5% Southeast Asian, Bengali should have more South Asian. However, they refer to Bengali as being Southeast Asian reference population, which is interesting

This a previous thread on Nat Geno 2.0 next gen results of South Asians including Malayalis and Jatts, http://www.anthrogenica.com/showthread.php?6314-Natgeno-2-0-nextgen-autosomal-test&highlight=jortita+geno2.0.

My arguments are quite silly as at that time I did not have much of an understanding of ancestry related aspects on that thread

Perhaps we should have a MOD join the threads, if it's the same topic?

I am not sure how you do that and it might be a good idea to do so
