G'day All,
I'm very new to this DNA world and while I'm having a lot of fun with the information I am being presented with I'm also rather confused by it all as well.

I recently purchased a R1b-M343 backbone test through FTDNA to further analyse the Y-DNA results I got. Not sure of the correct notation to use in writing this out but the following is a list of the entries showing up in green on my Haplotree and SNP chart as displayed by FTDNA.

M343 / L389 / P297 / M269 / L150 (Presumed Positive) / L23 / L51 / P311 / P312 / U152 / L2 / BY2823

Doing a google on these results lead me to this page http://www.eupedia.com/europe/Haplogroup_R1b_Y-DNA.shtml (which I have seen mentioned in a few posts already).

Reading through this page and looking at a few of the maps it seems that the U152 haplogroup is quite common in Italy.

My interest is in how it (and my sub groups) could have ended up in the UK. The furthest I have chased my ancestry back so far is to the late 1700's in the Wolverhampton area of England. Back then the family name was Jones and we all assumed that the trail would lead to Wales eventually. So this DNA testing throwing up an area of Italy as the 'source' of our Y-DNA is very unexpected and rather exciting.

Any information or guidance on how to continue to investigate this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
