Hi all,

We are glad to announce today that WeGene now accepts AncestryDNA data. If you happen to have tested with Ancestry.com, you can upload your raw data file and get our analysis on your ancestry composition info at: https://www.wegene.com/en/. You will need to upload the zipped data file as it is downloaded from Ancestry.com. Similar to our 23andme service, it can take up to 3 business days for your data to be ready (though it is usually a lot faster :p)

Please note, since this function is still in beta testing, it is subject to some changes. While we’ve tuned our algorithm to adapt to AncestryDNA data (whose coverage on SNPs is different), it might be further improved with more data coming in, thus your result can change later. We would appreciate your help if you would help pasting your Ancestry.com/WeGene result here for comparison. You are very welcome to report any other issues in usage as well.

Let us know what you think of the new function and enjoy :)

UPDATE:

You might need to download the latest result file again from Ancestry.com

I guess my minor Iberian admixture is hidden in the Uyghur category..

Hmm, I guess this is an area we need to continue work on. Do you mind post the result that Ancestry.com gives you as well?

On 23andme my Iberian showed up:

On AncestryDNA it was similar to WeGene reporting 6% Central Asian:

Compared to 23andMe upload British and French has remained about the same. More Finnish and less Uzbek. A minute fraction of Maya which wasn't in 23andMe upload.

I've uploaded my AncestryDNA raw data so I can compare it to my 23andMe data, although I don't have any raw data for my brother as he hasn't tested with AncestryDNA.

Yet again, this points out some sort of ancestral component that my brother inherited which I didn't, but I don't have a clue what it might be. Hello, anyway we can upload FTDNA files directly by changing the format? Thanks

We are sorry but currently we do not support FTDNA files. It is on the backlog but given its changing format it might take some time.

Would it be possible to manually upload 23andme format files? DNAland converts FTDNA's raw data to 23andme and one can download it. As it is, the website directs to 23andme so there's no option of manually uploading.

As I have only tested with Geno 2.0 next gen converted to FTDNA, I look ahead to Wegenes soon allowing upload of FTDNA raw data

Can you delete the RAW DATA from their storage? What are the risks? I am a bit concerned about this site.
