View Full Version : R-CTS10834 Positive for F-M282, H-M56, H-P96, H-M197 & R-CTS10834?

Several members in the Haplogroup H-Project have had their Haplogroup reassigned after Big-Y or other advanced SNP testing at FTDNA, but they all have one SNP in common, CTS10834+

The Kits are:
175045 (F-M282) which has been reclassified as H-P96;
189683 (H-M197): &
413932 (R-CTS10834) Which was H-M56

These kits still test positive for other normal H-SNPs, so what is going on here?

Is CTS10834 a SNP looking for a home, or is Haplogroup H not that well defined?

Minor correction Geo.

"413932 (R-CTS10834) Which was H-M56" Should read 413932 (R-CTS10834) Which was H-M52.

To clarify a bit more, for unknown reasons to me, kit 413932 was originally placed in H - M52 after doing some individual SNP testing, Geno 2 testing and later Big Y test. But very recently he was changed from H-M52+ to R-CTS10834 which I feel is incorrect and I am addressing that issue directly with FTDNA.
