I have combined the trees at YFull and FTDNA for haplogroup L813:

I made a mistake in my original L-813 tree, so here is a corrected version. I have also added som equivalent SNP/names to the tree.

9990

Notes:
1. There is a typo in the FTDNA tree. Y16488 in the FTDNA tree should be Y16448.
2. After combining the YDNA-tree and YFull tree, 5 of the L813 on the FDTNA tree are actually Y18927 (1), Y21736 (2) and Y20861 (2), and one of the Y5483/FGC9486 is Y19967.
3. For YFull 3 of the L813 are Y15505 (1), BY3463 (1) and BY3473 (1).

FTDNA has revised their L813 tree. There are 3 changes:
1. They added FGC17591 below BY3465.
2. They added Y18927 (This SNP was already on the YFull L813 Tree)
3. They have moved FGC9493 to between FGC9487 and FGC9494 (previously FGC9393 and FGC9494 were equivalent).

The revised version of the L813:

I would imagine it has a Germanic origin in Britain, perhaps Viking?

I am also L813. Are there any other tests I should take to break it down even more specifically? I don't fully understand the process so I do not know what else I should choose to have tested(SNPs etc) I was I1-M253 on FTDNA then did further SNP test per someone's advice and then FTDNA changed my haplogroup to L813. From there I do not know if there are any other tests on L813.

There is a I-L813 project at FTDNA here: https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/i-l813y-haplogroup/dna-results - you could join your FTDNA kit to the project and for questions about further testing, the project administrator's contact email is on the project homepage in the link.

It feels like there are very few I1-L813 forum browsers. I look forward to future additions and editions of the I1 tree. Thank you, Calamus.

Well, the origin story for Clan MacLeod has the chiefly line descending from one of the many dynasties of Norse-Gaelic kindreds who ruled the Hebrides, Man and parts of Ireland. Not to mention a fair chunk of western Scotland saw Norse settlement, and many Vikings took Scottish, Irish & English captives back to Scandinavia.

Good news for the people of my haplogroup L813.
One of the Icelandic (HSJ-A1) of this study is one of ours
(Not my branch Y18927. L813 paternal side and H3 maternal side, just like me !!!)

Ancient Icelandic I-L813 +, I-Y13039 +

Y13039 is composed today mainly of Swedish, English, Scottish and Norwegians
Common ancestor for this branch (YFull) 1650 years

Thanks to Simon Hedley for his nice work

Well that is definitely solid support for the Clan MacNeil DNA project calling their "Torquil MacNeill" group Norse! That group is entirely I-Y13039. Fascinating stuff.

Try this one: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/325532296_Ancient_genomes_from_Iceland_reveal_the_ making_of_a_human_population

It's the same Science 2018 paper that we're discussing regarding the ancient Icelandic genomes of SBT-A1, SVK-A1, HSJ-A1, etc. on the Ancient I-M253 Samples thread.

HSJ-A1 was added to the YFull tree today. Analysis in progress, but preliminary position is there:

I am a norwegian and I have several autosomal hit with scottish clans like MacLeod, Grant, McIntosh. None of these surnames goes in my familytree since autosomal test goes back 6- 8 generation back.

I decided to take I1-l22 panel including alpha, delta and gama test with YSEQ to find out more of my haplogroup.

My haplogroup is concluded at YSEQ, and all known downstream branches have been confirmed negative. I am awaiting the final results in regard to STR.
My haplogroup is I1-FGC17581 And quick summary:

CTS6868 C+
L813 G+
Y8943 T+
FGC17581 C+
Anyone here that have same haplogrpup?

Here is YFull's tree (https://www.yfull.com/tree/I-Y9434/)for your haplogroup. This haplogroup formed roughly 2000 YBP and it has a TMRCA of 1400 BYP.

Those matches to those Scottish surnames are likely not in any real genealogical timeframe and they are likely patrilineal cousins dating back to the Scandinavian settlement and activity in Scotland.

Glad to see a new L813 on this forum.
I am one of them, but not of your branch

https://www.yfull.com/tree/I-Y9434/

Mine is Y18927, this one is Swedish.
Some of them are more Norwegian, but probably of Swedish origin for the oldest mutations

If that is not already the case, join our L813 group on FB and the one of FTDNA

Helgenes,
This branch look very small. I have only found 6 indviduals that is in this branch.
Do you know of anymore individuals here?
It would be intetesting to compare the STR.
