C1C haplo cousin matches

OK so I have 3 cousin matches on GEDMatch with the MTDNA haplo C1C, which is Native. My family has Native roots, confirmed through my DNA test, I also checked the results of these haplo matches and they also specifically have measurable amounts of North American Indian ancestry.

My question is, how common is it for someone to have C1C cousin matches, or matches with alike Native haplos? Trying to determine if these people may actually be related to me through my Native line, or just coincidence.

On gedmatch I have people who are closely related and we both shared C1C. I believe that it might be any where on the maternal side. But in the case of them being C1B and you are C1C but they are closely related then that is probably coincidence.

I'm C1c - maternal line is either from northern Mexico (Pima or Tarahumara) or the Yucatan (Maya).
