Hemshin Peoples https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemshin_peoples

Since Laz people and Hemshin people lived alongside for centuries I thought it would be useful to review Hemshin people Y-DNA as well.
The Hemshin peoples (Armenian: Համշէնցիներ Hamshentsiner; Turkish: Hemşinliler), also known as Hemshinli or Hamshenis or Homshetsi,[3] are a diverse group of peoples who in the past or present have been affiliated with the Hemşin district in the province of Rize, Turkey.[4][5][6][7] It is generally accepted that they were Armenian in origin, and were originally Christian and members of the Armenian Apostolic Church, but over the centuries evolved into a distinct ethnic group and converted to Sunni Islam after the conquest of the Ottomans of the region during the second half of the 15th century.[8]

Below is the chart list mostly collected from FTDNA

Notable absence of J1 and E-M35. Would likely appear if the sample size reached 100.

Who made this chart? J2a4h2f is my grandfather cause he is the only member in the group with that Y-DNA. Not all the members of the Hemshin project are directly Hemshin. The project admin added people who have a good number of Hemshin matches and are geographically from or near Hemshin regions.

^^Exactly what I am talking about. My grandfather is in that group and so is another Ispirli Turk. My grandfather and the other guy from Ispir are a part of the Camlikaya region of Ispir. The project admin added them in the group even though they are not Hemshin but he believes there is a link. Notice that many of the Khodorchur Armenians in the project have Ispir mentioned in their ancestry.

Two rare haplogroups, L1b and G1a make up more than half of their y-dna heritage. This is very unique people :) I have got a Hamshen match from Artvin/Hopa on the 12 y-str markers.
