I was really looking forward the results of the new Z367 pack from FTDNA, but my results came back inconclusive, leaving me at L-20 still. Below are my results. Any thoughts on where or what I should be looking to test next.

Thx

You are positive for these SNPs:

U152+, L2+, L20+, L23+, L278+, L389+, L51+, M269+, M343+, P297+, P310+, P311+, P312+,Z367+, Z383+, Z384+

On myFTDNA look at your Haplotree & SNPs results and you can see where you are: R>U152>L2>L20>Z384

But isn't Z384 one level higher than L20, ie Z384 -> L20? Plus it's hard to believe my terminal SNP is Z384?

Sorry I meant Z383. If you click on "more..." after the L20, it then shows Z383 which you tested positive for. I have the same issue with YSC0000193 - which I tested positive for - but which is not yet declared a terminal SNP so my Haplogroup is R-CTS9733. But YSC0000193 is downstream of it.

No worries. I appreciate you taking the time to look and respond.

This might interest you. Richard Rocca of R1b.org maintains an unofficial U152 haplotree at: http:www.r1b.org/docs/Full_Y-Chromosome_U152_Samples.xlsx

This is a screen shot of what he has for your portion of L20:

Since January of this year Richard no longer updates his tree. Data used to create his tree is being transfered to Alex Williamson's Bigtree http://www.ytree.net/DisplayTree.php?blockID=441&star=false

Here is what FTDNA shows for my Haplogroup data
10827
And here is what the U152 shows for what I need to do, but I have already tested Z291 & BY5690 as they were in the Z367 kit. My kit is B75726.
10828

So what kind of recommendation would the group make?

Interesting you are in the same group with Dr. FAux. .
with Ours 23andme tests in 2008..We Belgieri and Faux .. we discovered the L20 SNP after all two we were L20+

I agree. My wife and her family jokes that I was hatched and are part lizard because I don't sweat profusely in the summer heat. Maybe that's why I am not not fitting into a neatly defined Haplogroup. :). But seriously, I am open to suggestions on what to try next? I have even tested for CTS9733 independent of the Z367 pack.

So any and all suggestions are appreciated.

My dad doesn't have as many sub-SNPs of L20 tested as you, but what ones he does have tested are also all negative. It seems like his Y STR37 is probably different than yours though.

He has one distance 3 and one distance 4 at YSTR37 level.

USMC7312 I would suggest saving up for a NGS test like Y-Elite or BigY. I have done the Y-Elite for my group under U152>PF6658>L193 and below and created our own sub-clade within my Duncan group. These are much more costly but will give you the new discovery of your own SNPs that you can then work to get others around you to test. We are using a mix of Y-Elite and BigY tests and then planning to creating Panels to test the others to at a lower cost for the ones that can not afford a NGS test.

We are pooling funds and saving up to get these NGS tests verses spending a large part of that cost on Packs. I would recommend saving for the Y-Elite for its better coverage which is paying off in our part of the U152 tree.
