In order to verify previous qpAdm results for Kurds showing approximately 20% ancestry attributable to EHG, I tried modeling Kurds and Zoroastrians using the following steppe population:
1- Steppe Eneolithic; Approximately 6500 year old Khavlynsk samples, which predated the Yamnaya Samara samples by about 1000 years. They were approximately 75% EHG, and 25% Caucausus;
2- Afanasievo: Approximately 5000 year old samples from Bateni Russia, approximately 1200 kms east of Samara. They were about 50% EHG & 50% Caucauses;
3- Yamnaya Samara: Approximately 5000 year old samples. They were about 50% EHG & 50% Caucauses;
4- Scythian IA: Approximately 2200 year old sample from Nadezhdinka Russia, about 1000 kms east of Samara. This sample shows about 13% E Asian in ADMIXTURE
The same outgroups were used as in the Lazaridis 2016 paper. They are:
Ust_Ishim
Kostenki14
MA1
Papuan
Chukchi
Karitiana
Mbuti.DG
Natufian
Switzerland_HG
I will be posting Kurds from Iraq and Turkey, including a Feyli, and also Zoroastrians;
The tables are sorted with the highest p-value (tail prob) on top. The models all seem to be consistent with the model showing around 20% EHG in Kurds
