Problem is, is that article is subjective at best. The eradication of major predators and other so-called "nuisance" animals in many regions around the world threatened entire ecosystems. Yellowstone, before the reintroduction of those predators [such as wolves], was so overpopulated by ungulates that they were starving to death in a number of areas as they were eating even very young sprouts. Right down to the ground as one article said. Such a shame how places like Isle Royale proves nature doesn't need humans to keep herself balanced.
I also hope they're not seriously including anything past the Industrial Revolution in those 13,000 years.
