Good Evening,

I have been tested through 23andMe and the results have me in Haplogroup J1e which I believe translated to J1-P58. My Fathers family comes from Spain and I have been able to track that back 6 generations. However, based upon further reading this group did not necessarily come from the Iberian peninsula.

So, how do I continue tracing back from my DNA sequence?

I have to give a two-part answer. To find the state-of-the-art detail of your subclade, you could retest at Family Tree DNA and add the BigY test. You can see the detail under P58 on this tree: http://genogenea.com/J-M267/tree

But that will probably not answer your question, because very little J1e has been found in ancient DNA. So for the time being, and perhaps for years, you would only have the same answer you already have, which is that your line reached Spain "sometime since the Neolithic."
