This is quite odd. My mtdna is T2b and below is the list of people who I share a common maternal ancestor with. You will see that there is a common region associated with my matches:
Azeri
jewish
azeri
azeri
saudi arabian
armenian
iranian
azeri/iranian/iraqi
There are a lot of azeris in my matches. My mother did mention that we have either Turkish or Armenian in our family...thoughts?

mtDNA is weird that way, your matches do all appear to derive from a common West Asian/near Eastern source but some exact matches may be hundreds or thousands of years old. Your family's oral history could also be correct in this case though.

I don't mind if its hundreds or thousands of years old... I am just trying to get an understanding of where my mother's line came from.. in this case it seems west asian/caucasus based...
Yes, there certainly does seem to be a hint at that. Perhaps via Armenian Christians in Egypt?

Yes im thinking its an armenian ancestor on my mother's side because the azeris I share with seem to be christian not muslim.
