Various bloggers are chiming in with comments. Razib Khan covered it when it was in development, but mentions it again now: Europeans share common ancestors to differing extents (http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/gnxp/2013/05/europeans-share-common-ancestors-to-differing-extents/). He has a particular focus on Italy.

He directs his readers to Carl Zimmer, Charlemagne’s DNA and Our Universal Royalty (http://phenomena.nationalgeographic.com/2013/05/07/charlemagnes-dna-and-our-universal-royalty/). Oner of the authors of the paper, Graham Coop, is among those who have commented.

Dienekers also covers the paper in his post, The Geography of Recent Genetic Ancestry across Europe (Ralph and Coop 2013) (http://dienekes.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/the-geography-of-recent-genetic.html)
