Newbie here. I came across your remarkable forum, specifically this thread:

The thread holds the most detailed information regarding S12192 that I've come across, so thank you!

I'm new to testing. I read Entine's Abraham's Children and became interested. He recommended FTDNA.

I was surprised to find I have some form of CMH, our family oral history does not indicate Cohenim.

So I have two questions:

(1) Besides this forum, what are the most reliable locations for research for someone who is just starting out? Either books or good websites. I find FTDNA's own educational pages to be really difficult to manage.

(2) Besides the aforementioned thread about S12192, I can't find anything on the net regarding this or any of my other downstream groups, S12192: BY68: FGC9941. Where is that information (from the aforementioned thread) regarding rabbinic families that are S12192? Any other available information (or speculation) regarding S12192 or BY68 or FGC9941?

Thanks for your help. Getting started in this research is like opening a page of Talmud, not easy!
