Southern California Genealogical Society's Jamboree

SATURDAY JUNE 8 session:

SA022 - Bennett Greenspan - "Advances in Y Chromosone Testing ." The field of Genetic Genealogy began with the application of the male inherited Y-Chromosome. Recent discoveries have shown that the Y, long thought to be dated form less than 100,000 years is actually now dated to approx. 200,000 years. Its best application is in finding male relatives, but is there more that can, or could be accomplished by using the male inherited Y? I'll discuss some recent work tailored to making the Y a better predictor of relatedness then has been previously contemplated. Will be video recorded and available for purchase.

Some sessions are being live-streamed.
