I looked over my mtdna research to predict my mtdna haplogroup. Here are my HVR1 types: A16129G, T16187C, C16189T, T16223C, G16230A, C16239T, T16278C, C16311T. My HVR2 types are: G73A, C146T, C152T, C195T, A247G, 315.1C, 522.1A, 522.2C. I looked onto the H1 mtGenome project to confirm my findings. And sure enough, it was an exact match to H1-C16239T. So I now know that my H subclade is H1-C16239T.

If we were only to look at HVR1 and HVR2, we'd be perfect matches. However, I'm in H1bg, which is a subcade of H1-C16239T. This can only be determined from SNPs in the coding region.

There are several other subclades of H1-C16239T, as well. Besides H1bg, you have H1bf and its subclade H1bf1; H1bh; and H1ch. To determine which of these you belong to -- if any -- you really need the FGS test (full genomic sequence).
