I started exploring into new forums such as this one and Mitosearch which confused me because even though I match with mostly U5a1 and there were a few H5a which kinda through me off but in our facebook group I've notice some talking about trying to research their mutations but to myself this is all forgein. I am wondering how a Halogroup U5a1b1 can have matches in other groups such as H5a? I do feel isolated at times because I have only found two U5a1b1 out there.

I am a U5a1b1. I am in the beginnings of searching this out.

In http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haplogroup_U_%28mtDNA%29#Haplogroup_U5 i read that U5a1b1 arose around 7000 years ago and has polymorphisms in 16291 (C16291T) ( + U5a1b polymorphisms).

You may have matches in other haplogroups, but that will be false matches. BTW I am U5a1b1(c1) too.

Not up to date with all the recent test results, but there is a summary of the U5 project here (https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/u-5b/about/results).

Hi folks my mtDNA Is U5A1B1 , in full in what I've tested into so far via Yseq labs. It's cheap and I did the HVR1 & HVR2 tests. I'm at U5A1B1D+T16093C , U5A1 is the oldest native European mtDNA haplogroup , Scandinavian/Baltic origins. Interestingly my Gran had some Finish show up in her results which would make sense with this haplogroup&subclade. There's a U5 fb group. We are from England now but looks like her line (work in progress) came out of Germany/East Northern Europe region and Baltic states before that. :)
