Hello Ruderico. Thanks for your reply. You say H18 is 9 000 years old? I thought it was 3.500. I don't think I can established any relation between my female line and that ancient H18 ancestor but I would very much like to know where H18 originated. Still unknown, you think?

The Yfull tree might not accurate. For example they have JX153090 in H18c1, and they have an improbable age estimate for H18c1 of 5300 years based on only two samples. However, GenBank and Ian Logan have JX153090 in H6b. So I suspect there are some errors in the Yfull tree and the Yfull age estimate for H18 might not be reliable.

Wow. I had no idea there were so many H18 subclades and H18 was so ancient. I guess data at Eupedia, Haplogroup org and FTDNA haven't been updated in quite a while. Or perhaps I've been looking in the wrong places. Thanks again.

Or perhaps the Yfull tree is wrong. I don't what their process is, but ascertaining the mtDNA H tree can be complicated - the mtDNA H tree is very bushy and it can be tricky dealing with back mutations.
