How can L682 and CTS2272 belong to different O haplogroups?

Hi I've got a question. In the yellowish table from this Korean link the blogger claims that L682 belongs to O2b1b, while CTS2272 belongs to O3a2c1c1a. How can this be? My Big Y results indicated that I'm positive for both CTS2272 and L682. So how can I belong to both O2b1b and O3a2c1c1a? Also, I thought L682>CTS2272

Hi, first off I would amend your profile to say Y-DNA is O-M175 if that is what you are. What you currently show is a bit confusing.

As regards your question the ISOGG tree shows the two SNPs in different sub-branches of O-M175

O1b2a1a2a L682, CTS2734, CTS6803,CTS9322, K28
O2a2b1a2b1a2 CTS682, CTS2272, CTS7184, CTS8951

What are your actual alleles (results) for these two markers? For example I am L682=T- and CTS2272=G- respectively from my FGC BAM.

Hi MacUalraig, thanks. 1) Regarding my profile you're right. I'm just not good at computers. Couldn't even post a photo profile.
2)I don't know how to access my FGC BAM from FTDNA, but I think you may have solved my quandary. I might have mistaken CTS682 for L682. Indeed, my FTDNA Y DNA profile says I am CTS2272. So I am assuming I am CTS682>CTS2272, since I am positive for both on my Big Y results page, which does not even list L682.

In that case, your family's genealogical records are very peculiar because King Sejong of Joseon is generally considered to be a grandson of King Taejo (i.e. Yi Seonggye, the founder of the Yi Dynasty of Joseon). King Sejong's father was King Taejong of Joseon (i.e. Yi Bang-won).

You are correct. I made a mistake. Indeed, my mother's family's genealogical records state that King Sejong was the grandson of Yi Songye. Not son. I hope you're confusion has been resolved.
