But can anyone explain why Southern England is shown separately in the ethnicity breakdown? Are they identifying me as predominantly Southern English or does this reflect match locations? Other very regional analyses I've done (Lucasz; Living DNA) don't give me much from that region so I'm interested. I mailed the kit to them just over two weeks ago so top marks for speed.

    Just means you probably have a lot of matches with links to Southern England. Mum and I have Southern England in ours too.

    Southern England is your Genetic Community ; where your ancestors lived 400-500 years ago.

    Thanks. Some of my ancestors did live in Southern England, including a fascinating line I've been researching from Wiltshire that includes a birth outside wedlock with father unknown. More broadly, the breakdown is pretty good.
    Living DNA Cautious mode:
    South Wales Border-related ancestry: 86.8%
    Cornwall: 8%
    Cumbria-related ancestry: 5.2%
    Y line: Peak District, England. Big Y match: Scania, Sweden; TMRCA 1,280 ybp (YFull);
    mtDNA: traces to Glamorgan, Wales, 18th century. Mother's Y line (Wales): R-L21 L371
