Can anyone tell me anything about my paternal haplogroup? Where did it originate? Who is it commonly linked to? etc . Any information would be great!

Grugni 2012 is probably the most informative paper on J2a1h (L24). L25 (J2a1h2) is the predominant subset of L24, likely making up over 90% of it.

    http://journals.plos.org/plosone/art...l.pone.0041252

In the paper it is referred to as M530 and is found in 18% of Zoroastrians of Yazd and Tehran. this is to my knowledge the highest frequency of J2a1h/L24/M530 anywhere.

If your are derived for Z387, this subclade of J2a1h2 is common in the eastern mediterranean and Turkey.

The other branches seem more frequent in the arabian peninsula, especially the eastern Gulf side, Iraq and Iran.

My paternal line was Pennsylvania Dutch. Came to the US from Palatinate Germany in mid 1700s. I am likely under J-Z39975* on Yfull.

My maternal ancestor, from Picardy, France, is haplogroup J2a1h2. Any ideas as to how this group wound up in northern France?

Hey. Well J2a is one of the most ancient Eurasian Hg's. Like mine, your paternal ancestors must've originated from north of the Fertile Crescent in the Armenian Highlands/Taurus Mountain range.
