    Libyan GEDmtch kits

Somebody saw such kits? I'm curious if Libyans are between Tunisia and Egypt, or rather diverging to one of them. And if they have more SSA than both?

Unfortunately, I don't have any gedmatch kit number of Libyans but based on the samples from academia as well as my Libyan matches/"cousins" @ 23andme, there should be two main types of Libyans: one similar to Maghrebis (particularly Tunisia) and another less important group in-between Maghrebis and Egyptian muslims (closer to either).

Haven't seen any Gedmatch kits, however i have been keeping track of how North Africans score on AncestryDNA. Samplesize is minimal but Libya indeed seems to be inbetween Tunisia and Egypt. There was also indeed some variation between two Libyan samples who were from the east and one from the northwest.

AncestryDNA has its limitations of course but what i personally find intriguing is their more refined SSA analysis. For example you can already clearly see how Morocco's & Algeria's SSA is predominantly originating from the western part of the Sahel ("Senegal" & "Mali") while Egypt's SSA part is predominantly from East Africa, socalled "SE Bantu" which is obviously mislabeled but still more or less in line with geography and known trade routes. Tunisia and Libya seem to be somewhat inbetween, which would make sense given their central location within North Africa and therefore more diverse scope of Trans-Saharan connections.

Nice results. It tells me much.
Total African is nearly the same as counted together East African, West Africa, NE-African and North African (K36 components) in my Maghreb and Egypt references.
North African in Ancestry apparently included most of NE-African and of course North African itself from K36.

Tunisia itself tends to be somewhere intermediate between Morocco and Egypt genetically, so it would make sense Libya is actually going to end up closer to Egypt than to Morocco.
