I am R1, but it isn't specified if it is anything else? It is probably R1a but still. Is it just the parental ydna R1, without any defining SNPs to break it down further?

Which company did you test with? Did you order any SNP tests?

I didn't test, rather I used my .bam analysis kit, and it gave me R1 along with a bunch of other snps for parental ydna of R1.

If you have a .bam file, presumably that was from some DNA-testing company (unless, of course, you have access to a sequencer and did your own testing).

There's several folks here who would be happy to analyze your .bam file in greater detail if you'd like; also, you can pay for analysis by YFull or Full Genomes.

How many of you have seen this wonderful chart showing the T Y-Haplogroup ? Take a look!

Why am I posting in R1? Because I'd love to see a similar chart for all or part of R1. (I'm especially interested in my own clade, R1-U106.) I suppose the creator of that beautiful diagram for T has the same information in a text file, which is more convenient than .png or .xlsx or etc. for some purposes. I have a text listing of R1-U106 much more complete than Isogg's, but I don't have labels connecting the nodes to specific families, cultures or places like the T diagram has.

Any hints on where to find ready-to-view charts of R1, or R1-U106, most similar to the T diagram?

That is a cool graphic.

Back in April (May?) of 2006, when I got my first 37-marker y-dna STR results from FTDNA, they had me listed as R1 for a week or two before switching me to R1b1, which was as far as it went back then (they didn't even know about M269 at that point!). That was kind of cool, but I knew some kind of R1b was likely.
