My mother shares segments with persons I don't share segments with???

I was running the one-to-many engine on my mothers kit at Gedmatch.com and saw some names among the results I didn't recognize from my own one-to-many comparison. Turns out she shares segments with persons I don't share any with. Is this possible or an error on Gedmatch.com's side?

50% of your mother's autosomal DNA is not passed on to you.
Either these segments have been trimmed until they are shorter than the minimum threshold, or they have been lost entirely.
This is entirely expected.
Especially for a segment match of only 8.4cM.
