Have ordered a second kit for one of my parents.. I take it once my 23andMe results are phased with there's my ethnicity estimate will change ever so slightly and some of my Broadly assigned ethnicities will be assigned a more pacific ethnicity grouping.
My question is this.. once I phase with my parent will there ethnicity estimates change slightly also? Or will it just affect mine?
Apparantly phasing with the new V5 chip is slightly innacurate, but there's a pretty high chance of your results changing nonetheless once you link with a parent

Both ways to my knowledge, but i'm not entirely sure, all I know for certain is that phasing involving V5 kits at the moment has done some really weird stuff to peoples results e.g. the other day I saw a case where somebody went from around 15% to 70% south asian after phasing with a V5 kit involved
I bought 2 kits for family members since the change has been introduced but they both still said v4 on the raw data download.. they were both bought off of Amazon uk.. so would I be right in saying they were older v4 kits from Amazon older stock? or does the age of the physical kit not have anything to do with whether your tested on v4 or v5 format?

If they're both V4, there shouldn't be any problem at all
When phasing with a parent Will just my results change slightly or do the parent's results change slightly also?

If you buy a kit and register it and send off saliva sample until you get your results and check the raw data is there any other way beforehand to check if the kit you purchased is v4 or v5?
