    23andMe best for African Americans??

Do you guys think 23andMe is great for African Americans?? I am African American but also have European and Asian ancestry. I heard they were good with European and Other ancestries, but I don't know about African Ancestry. I have already taken the AncestryDNA test and got my scores for Africa, now i wanna know what European and Asian regions I get since many people say that AncestryDNA is not as good with European or Asian as 23andMe.

They don't give as much of a regional breakdown as Ancestry. I think it pretty much just says West, North, East or broadly Sub-Saharan. Ancestry tries to make it more specific like Mali, Nigeria, Cameroon/Congo, Bantu, etc.

Both 23andMe and AncestryDNA are good choices for African Americans (at least compared to the other testing companies). 23andMe sponsored an initiative "Roots into the Future" to increase the size of their database, so it might be better for matching. AncestryDNA's "ethnicity" component has access to more reference samples from different African countries (originally collected by the Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation).

Disclosure: I have had consulting agreements with 23andMe and SMGF, and I am currently an Ancestry Ambassador.

Edit to add: 23andMe's Ancestry Composition displays the components on a chromosome map if you're interested in tracing segments.
