Despite my continued requests to have my uploaded kits removed, from the One family project. They have not done so.

It seems to be that the one world project, is a little bit like the hotel California. You can check in, but cannot leave.

Asked multiple times, for my uploaded data to be removed, no response.

Not sure if this has been posted already, but there is a good Q and A session with LivingDNA, and states that the first release of Family Matches will be available at the end of April.

    Hi,

I uploaded my data from FTDNA yesterday morning and below is what I see when I login to the site. Can someone please let me know, if the timeline is accurate and whether I will have to wait till August to see the ancestry breakdown and the matches? Has anyone received results for this project(One World) earlier than 5 months?

    Order Date: 8 March 2018
    Test Reference: LT0107431A
    Participant: VishD
    Status: Awaiting Testing
    Test Type: DNA Ancestry Test
Estimated Completion Date: 6 August 2018

    Regards,
    Vish

Wow! Other companies like Gencove can process your raw data into an ethnicity report within an hour. Ftdna and MyHeritage take 1 or 2 days. 5 months to run raw data. Seems a bit absurd to me and not much of an incentive to entice others to do the same. Hopefully its some type of error.

I don't think that Living DNA are providing ethnicity reports for transfers. At least not at the moment. You should be able to view matches though when that's introduced. This is what they say here: https://www.livingdna.com/en-au/one-family/research

In addition, if you upload your DNA for FREE then by mid 2018 you will be able to find DNA matches, using a new type of technology, with other people in the project as well as people who have taken a Living DNA test. This will help those that are interested find new cousins and connect with once unknown relatives around the world. The free upload does not provide an ethnic breakdown.

Which leads one to ton of bad reviews on "Trust Pilot . c0m", under dna-wordlwide . c0m
A poor rating overall. 42 reviews, 2 out of 5 stars.

Started by entrepreneur, not a scientist. And hey I'm entrepreneur, so not to knock them; but I'd be comforted if there were actual scientists who created it.

They do seem accomplished at canine DNA testing, so they've got that going for them.

Does DNA Living disclose that they also do business as "DNA Legal" ? Which appears to do drug and alcohol testing and a lot court mandated stuff.

Is that where the bulk of their DNA samples are from? Their disclosures seem slippery in language.

And now I see that certain vocal "genealogists" are heavily promoting them as superior to other services. Weirdness.

Wow. This was very helpful, thanks for this. I started out getting excited about Living DNA but when I did some research it really made me lose faith, along with your post, it's official. I won't be getting this test.

All our transfer/uploaded kits received the regional breakdowns, however they were uploaded when it was first announced. I don't know how they compare with paid kits as only have mine!

One kit has failed twice since August and took months to be told so. Uploaded again last week!
