Living DNA, working with the world's leading academics, scientists and genealogists are seeking your help to extend the level of genetic detail within Poland.

    About this project
Living DNA, working with the world's leading academics, scientists and genealogists are seeking your help. Together we are looking to map the world's genetic ancestry to the finest scale possible, one where we identify patterns of DNA within countries. The academic team who were involved in the landmark publication “The fine-scale genetic structure of the British population” are now looking to extend the level of genetic detail throughout Poland. Our preliminary research indicates at least 11 areas in Poland may have distinct genetic differences."

What is that? Lubusz, Western Pomerania? They are crazy? They want to model post-war mixed population substructure in Western Poland?

What is Masuria according to them? It's Warmia, Powiśle and Elbląskie.

But of course I uploaded my genome and parents genomes for free

My mother ancestry is from about 80 km near Lodz proximity so probably will be used in regional references. But why for Lesser Poland? Should be Central Poland region here.

Nope, of course not. You have to have all of your ancestors born in a given region:

To build a regional genetic breakdown of ancestry within countries, similar to ’The Peopling of the British Isles project’. This part of the project is looking for people with all four grandparents born within 80km (50miles) of each other.
I gave them info about birthplaces of my 4 grandparents and 8 great-grandparents.

But what is Masuria? It's wrongly placed. Great and Lesser Poland also are too big. What is Northern Masovia. I must write to them.

But they allow everybody to join. Not only those with strict regional ancestry. And both kinds of people can transfer for free RAWDATA. Also from all over the world https://www.livingdna.com/en-gb/one-family/research
The one family project is open to everyone worldwide and has two parts.

To build a genetic family tree of everyone from around the world, regardless of where your family comes from.
To build a regional genetic breakdown of ancestry within countries, similar to ’The Peopling of the British Isles project’. This part of the project is looking for people with all four grandparents born within 80km (50miles) of each other.

If you qualify for the second part of the project and don’t have DNA results to upload for free, then you will receive a special discount on a Living DNA test should you wish to take part.

    How do I take part?

Fill in a short survey about your family ancestry to sign up for the project.

Upload your existing autosomal raw DNA data from your current provider, FREE of charge
Or, if you don't have existing DNA results yet, you can take a Living DNA test (you will get a discount if you qualify for part 2 of the project)

So regional ancestry is only bonus when you want to buy their kit Transfer is free to everybody

My mother qualifies for regional, but of course I registered mine and my father also.

How long you waited for instruction?

It's not an answer to my question. So they wanted German people from this area? Because if somebody is young can have even grandparents born in former German lands and all could be Polish migrants after war But it doesn't matter becasue even without regional ancestry you can transfer raw data for free.
