Malaysian result. He has around 26-30% Western Eurasian admixture depending on the calculator. It looks like he has very recent South Asian ancestry in the range of 50-60%. His South Asian affinity seems to be more Northern Indian/Pakistani-related due to the fact that Pakistani, Sindhi, Burusho and Pathan is showing in his Dodecad V3 result. This is different from most SE Asians who have a South Indian-related affinity. He seems like a mix between ethnic Malay and Northern Indian/Pakistani-related ethnicity.

While this is a bit off the subject, I noticed today when I was browsing my Family Finder matches at FTDNA, and then triangulated at one point, that there is a woman from New Zealand in my match list. From her photo and the way her hair was decorated with a wreath of flowers, it looks pretty much like she is part Maori (Polynesian). When I did a triangulation on her, I got two full pages of matches (all apparently European-type). So it looks to me like FF matches have very old auDNA, in my case with a common ancestor(s) back in the British Isles before the USA was founded.

    Can you please clarify this?
    Do you mean before 1776?
    Or before Jamestown?

In either case, New Zealand was settled after this, so it would mean the split happened back in the British Isles some time before.

I certainly have a aDNA link to someone in the USA where the only known paper connection is back 11 generations to the 1500s in England.
There may be other connections, but the statistics support this sort of thing very occasionally.
I think it was Tim Janzen who reported stats on survivals up to 10 generations or beyond, but he is so prolific that I was not able to locate the reference for this.
Unfortunately my own match is not responding to messages so I have not been able to explore other possibilities there.

    1. After looking at said photo more closely, I'm no longer sure that person was part Polynesian. She may just be another British descent.

    2. My maternal grandmother's lines are frustrating, i.e. difficult to prove. I use a combination of records, remembered family stories (not many), and auDNA matches to other people in her plausible branches. One well documented line goes back to Oxfordshire, England. Her direct maternal line mtDNA is mysterious, as I can only prove it back to about 1816. But judging from DNA matches, it could be Scotch-Irish or Scotch who moved down to England at some point in History, (such as from land clearances in Scotland?). Her other plausible lines are mostly from England/Wales, with Scotland way back (likely too far for DNA testing). For example, a Bruce line can be historically traced back to Vladimir-the-Great and via his last wife to an emperor of Byzantium, ha ha.

Posting individual GEDmatch One-to-Many matches since I can't post links or images ye

The first person is one of my GEDmatch One-to-Many matches who is closer to the MDLP K23b Vietnamese_central and Vietnamese_south reference populations than actual Vietnamese people. The name they listed sounds Laotian or Thai.

I can't post links but There's a few Vietnamese, Cambodian KIT I know. The main difference is that the Eastern-Indo China region received less Indian-South Eurasian like influence which can be easily explained if we study the history of Angkor and the Indian influence in Thai-Cambodian language, writings. The early presence of Chinese inhabitants of Vietnam and the later migrations established a continuous gene flow and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Mainland China, the same happened between Thailand and China, but to a lesser extent and more concentrated in the recent periods.
