Just a thought for a new Calculator - 23andme based.

I had this interesting thought. Why hasn't anybody tried to recreate 23andme's AC to a DIY version? Of course it won't be exactly the same, but the categories could be kept the same. But perhaps changing French & German to Northwestern European and Splitting up English from Irish/Scottish.

This is just a thought. I wish I could make something like this but I am not computer code savvy enough. I just wanted to put this idea out there...

Do you mean by 23andme based that it could not work with samples from companies such as FTDNA and Ancestry? Why would anyone want to create a calculator like that?

Good idea, on the 23andme API site section they offer developing tools for developing ancestry apps https://api.23andme.com/. I wish I had the knowledge of how to do it but unfortunately I don't however I am interested in doing exactly as you said.

Of course not! Maybe I should have said 'stylized' such as the way 23andMe's components are categorized. And in my opinion, sometimes smaller but more defined components can be more robust.

You and Kurd need to work together, and make one standard calculator for all.

23andme based? The company that labelled 60% of my DNA nonspecific? No thanks.

Haha, I think about using the same references and do it more exact.
