    Ancient DNA map

There have been so many studies it is a difficult task to follow them all. This link seems to get them most of them, with the location of the samples included:

Nice! I was just thinking about the need for this the other day. We definitely need a repository for this stuff as it will soon become impossible to keep track of everything.

It would be great if someone knew such a map with mention of the accessability of the genomes .

Noticeable there are some big geographical gaps there. Next to nothing in Wales and South/Western Britain generally. Next to nothing in France not a lot in Ireland.

0 samples from eastern Anatolia which is of fundamental importance to the PIE question. Also Italy being completely snubbed by Anglo researchers who would rather take 1000 samples from anywhere else before a single from Roman Italy.

It's useful, but at first glance I can see it's missing a lot , eg French Neolithic G2a's , as well as the earliest R1a and M417 on record , both from Ukraine. However, it gives an indication of how undersampled some regions are : France , Scandinavia ,Italy , parts of Germany and the Isles, Ukraine. Hopefully the Beaker paper might partially remedy that when it is finally published.

Its not that good missing a lot of data. It is selective. I might try to make a better one. Its very disappointing.

It needs someone to apply all of Jean's 'Ancestral Journeys' data to a map . I think her list is complete.

I don't share MrSnow's paranoid anglophobia. If there is so few aDNA from France, it's not the fault of the british and american academics, just because it's not their fault that the french archeological school (INRAP) is still more or less under the rule of anti-genetics fossils, who keep repeating "Pots are not people" and other stupid old straw of the New Archeology. I'm pretty sure that there is an explanation for the lack of aDNA in Italy, other than I don't know which ridiculous anti-italian conspiracy
