Thread: results are confusing

    results are confusing

    What would results mean? mother's: East Europe, Scandinavian and Asia Minor.

    Child's: East Europe, British Isles and Asia Minor but no Scandinavian.

    Father's only: East Europe and Finland.

    Any theories?

    Scandinavian and British Isles DNA is similar and can be mistaken for each other.

    when you guys did the DNA test did you get connected one to another as relatives? if you did then your results are accurate

    within 6 months, daughter did it first then tested mother, after linked as relatives on the website: Daughter's result didn't change BUT mother's however added Finland (Before it was East Europe and Scandinavia only). Sorry if it my writing a bit confusing. Would it mean that daughter's simply did not inheret Scandinavian dna?

    Buth both got connected on ftdna Linked relationships and results still: child- British Isles no Scandinavia, mother's- Scandinavia but no British Isles.

    Well, it just means that the test is not completely accurate, both must be either British Isles or Scandinavia.

    Once again, British and Scandinavian DNA is similar.

    See, an example, a Norwegian girl testing as British:
