Different biradaris/groups in Punjab score differently, so it's significant to know if you are Jatt, Rajput, Arain, Gujjar etc...
Eyeballing the results so far, you seem completely inline with the Northern Punjab biradaris. I assume you are not Rajput, or have ancestry the from the Western or Southern region in Punjab. You may have a grandparent from the Salt Range region, perhaps... but, I'd guess all your ancestry is from east of Chenab and probably north of Sahiwal. Perhaps Jatt and Kashmiri or Gujjar mix?

Again, it seems fairly generic NW South Asian by the looks of it (apart from the one reference to the Yaghnobi, who I have learned are a Tajik ethnic minority..) - but grateful for any thoughts on how to interpret..
Your profile is bit similar to punjab-pahari results we have seen which is common among pretty much all main bradaris west of upper Chenab river and south AJK at least as Khana say. I remember you said your mother side had ancestry from Attock and AJK so that explain it. As far as foreign ancestry, its hard to detect from these results.

Hmm.. that's really interesting! Thanks @khana bhai.

In terms of caste identity + our geographic origin, we're a bit mixed; but I've always been told growing up that we're Rajputs. I think what you've mentioned about my scores resembling northern Punjabi birardaris makes a lot sense, though; my Dad's side are (by and large) from Lahore, whilst Mom has some more northerly ancestry, which I'm guessing is what (when taken together) generates something Potohari/Pahari looking in me?

In case it's helpful, I thought I'd briefly run through where my grandparents are from.. My paternal grandad is Rajput (Bhatti, I believe), from the Old City of Lahore; although his mother was from Wazirabad and his paternal grandmother was from Pasrur (both were Bhatti Rajputs I've been told). My paternal grandmother (also Rajput, but not sure re: her clan) was again from Lahore, her parents belonging to a village near today's Allama Iqbal airport. My maternal grandad, on the other hand, is from Islamgarh in AJK and identifies as Bhains Rajput. My maternal grandmother is the odd one out: her father was an Awan (of the 'Qutb Shahi' branch), from Pindigheb in Attock District; whilst her mother was from Manshera in Hazara (we're unsure about her exact ethnicity; all we know is that she was Hindko-speaking, and her paperwork identifies her simply as 'Patan', so I wonder whether she may have had a Hindko/Pakhtun background.)

Thanks @bol_nat that's really helpful and makes a lot of sense.

If I wanted to investigate the foreign ancestry claim further, what d'you think would be the best way of doing this? As I'm 5 generations removed from the (supposed) mystery forebear I was thinking I could either (a) test my paternal grandad's autosomal DNA or (b) try and get some more info on my yDNA haplogroup (at the moment all I know is that I'm J2/J-M172).

Apologies for all the questions guys, but super grateful for all your help and pointers

Correct me if I'm wrong guys (Sapporo, bol_nat, and MDL are more well-versed in the inter-biradari scores than myself), but aren't his results not typical of Rajputs? Very interesting. Then again, we don't have that many Rajputs to compare you with. Now I'm super curious LOL.

It goes in line with Kashmiri rajputs, Kashmiri jatt and northern punjabi results I have seen, the only difference is his east asian is less than people of those regions.

I agree. His results are in line with Pahari Jatts and Rajputs.

hmm I think top gedmatch matches can give good hint about recent ancestry. Obviously ignoring european matches.

I get an Iranian Lori as a match on genesis. Should I take it seriously or just let it slide?
