Northern European population history revealed by ancient human genomes

An international team of scientists, led by researchers from the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History, analyzed ancient human genomes from 38 northern Europeans dating from approximately 7,500 to 500 BCE. The study, published today in Nature Communications, found that Scandinavia was initially settled via a southern and a northern route and that the arrival of agriculture in northern Europe was facilitated by movements of farmers and pastoralists into the region.

Seems like Hg J is Linked to some kind of UHG group even pre-EHG

And I2a1b seems to be linked to Narva Culture. Narva Culture is successor of the Mesolithic Kunda Culture that originated from the Swiderian Culture. The Narva Culture pottery shared similarities with Comb Ceramic Culture.

The distribution of the artifacts (CCC) found includes Finnmark (Norway) in the north, the Kalix River (Sweden) and the Gulf of Bothnia (Finland) in the west and the Vistula River (Poland) in the south. In the east the Comb Ceramic pottery of northern Eurasia extends beyond the Ural mountains to the Baraba steppe adjacent to the Altai-Sayan mountain range, merging with a continuum of similar ceramic styles.[1] It would include the Narva culture of Estonia and the Sperrings culture in Finland, among others. They are thought to have been essentially hunter-gatherers, though e.g. the Narva culture in Estonia shows some evidence of agriculture. Some of this region was absorbed by the later Corded Ware horizon.

Comb Ceramic was not limited in Europe, being widely distributed in the Baltic, Finland, the Volga upstream flow, south Siberia, Lake Baikal, Mongolian Plateau, Liaodong Peninsula and the Korean Peninsula.[2] The oldest ones have been discovered from the remains of Liao civilization - Xinglongwa culture (6200 BC - 5400 BC).[3]

Wasn't it CHG as per Jones 2015 (I don't remember well the year of the paper about Satsurblia samples)...

Anyway, that Bronze Age R1b from Lithuania seems wrong when looking to Genetiker calls.

If only Popovo sample was better sequenced, it would be very nice.
