Actually, any of these papers would be interesting. Another paper about Central European WHG or EEF would be however quite disappointing(unless they find something exotic in them).

I'm beginning to think the Indo-Europeans are hardly worth discussing anymore until something really definitive comes along. Best to just take note of the latest ancient DNA test results and the opinions of the very few people whose opinions are worth reading, and let the rest go without comment.

The big picture is clear that a few y lineages carrying steppe genes spread IE west c 3000-2500BC. The main cultures involved were Yamnaya, CW and bell beaker. I don't think that big picture will change much. All that remains is to flesh out the details and missing links now. All other theories are dead.

I agree with you completely, but there are still a few diehards (and blowhards) out there who desperately want R1b-L51 to be anything other than Indo-European and seem determined to go down with the ship. The IE threads are a nuisance because of them. They're hardly worth the trouble anymore.

Big foot WOULD be good just a bit of homo erectus the the basal human argument might overtake the basal Eurasian?
Out of 64 pre 1800 births 45% Cheshire, 1% Irish (or Scottish), 25% south Derbyshire, 13% Burton on Trent area (where 4 counties within 10 miles), 7% Shropshire, 1% Staffs, 8% Lancs. So far all British Isles despite what the testing companies say.

Looking at many of the recent comments regarding Cheddar Man , R1b’s early subclades , etc.... all I can say is the sooner ANY new paper arrives the better .

The point is we badly need something new and substantial to ponder , as the tone has been seriously low of late on a variety of threads . All good fun I guess , but oh so dull.
