    Quick Links for Calculator Threads

    Hi all,

I have decided to create a “portal” thread that lists all of the calculator threads in the Autosomal section of the forum, with associated links. A number of threads have been merged together due to there being a high number of duplicates. This post was made for two reasons:

    1. To make it easier for new and old members alike to locate threads, results and “DIY” files for calculators created over the years.
    2. To stop multiple threads for the same calculator being created.

I have tried to include as many calculators as I can find (there’s been a few!). If I am missing any please send me a message. If there is a calculator without a link (its bold in red), it means a thread has not been created for it yet (that I can find, please let me know otherwise).

There are now no excuses for making threads for calculators that already original threads, some of which where create 3+ years ago with multiple pages already. If you now go and create a “Post your results” thread for a calculator that already has a thread, yours will be deleted without warning.

This will be updated as new calculators are released. If there are any errors, or if you want a calculator added that you have created a thread for but is not listed, please let me know.

NOTE: This a list of calculators that have been released on GEDMatch and/or are DIY. Some of them are no longer on GEDMatch, and some may no longer have DIY files available.

I hope all of you find this helpful, and hopefully it saves some time digging through various pages!

Very good decision. But I must admit it was hard to find threads with old calculators because of search function which doesn't allow using short words like k10 for example

As I doubt that this deserves a thread, I'll post here. An Eurogenes user @vahaduo has posted on Github a Monte-Carlo program (nMonte-like if you prefer). It works very quickly. I did not yet have time to try it very thoroughly, but it seems to give pretty coherent results, very close to nMonte. If this guy reads AG, thanks vahaduo, good job (and perhaps great job). Probably people who are too shy or busy to learn R will appreciate it, in addition to poi's webrunner.

I was wondering the same thing.

I suspect we’ll have to find a way to ask him (@vahaduo).

The penalty is a functionality of nMonte. There is no reason that the author of this algo has thought to anything like "pen". Perhaps I was not clear enough: this is not a "nMonte runner"! (http://eurogenes.blogspot.com/2019/0...?commentPage=3 scroll down)
