I've just received a message reminding me that the 'Galloway Hoard', aka the 'Dumfriesshire Hoard', has now been saved for the nation, and that work can now proceed to 'unlock its secrets'. The hoard contains Viking artefacts. Does anyone know if aDNA is likely to be retrieved from the site?

I don't think any Human remains were found, it was a buried viking hoard on its own I believe, so at this moment in time very unlikely
