After having many wise people who are far more educated than me look at my raw results, I can say there is NO NOISE.

Even little blips of DNA are calling out from the past saying hi in the here and now.

In my case, anything that showed from even .2 is real as can be.

Try uploading the raw results to Gedmatch and playing around with things.

Do not just rest on the advice on one person though.

Try out different calculators and also finetune your family tree as much as possible.

actually, I was told by several sources that .3% can be usually considered noise...much depends I suppose on how common your 'groups' are and also, if you have a specific paper trail or even solid verbal story that suggests a real connection, then it could be valid

but as a general rule, without any particular reason to believe it, .3 seems to be the threshold many say is noise

    good luck!

From my my understanding, this is very likely noise. Keep in mind, these calculators are based upon sample groups that serve as a proxy. So, often our dna results are not an exact fit for the groups used in these calculators. More than likely there is some similar ancestry that reads out as the group associated with the calculator.

I've already seen a few examples, myself included, where 23andMe significantly underestimates non-european ancestry, particularly it seems if you have South Asian below ~10%. But what they do show for non-euro admixture may be wrong in those cases. So you might interpret that as meaning there is something there, but that doesn't mean what they assigned to it is correct.

23andme gives me .3% East Asian & Native American, but it doesn't show up anywhere else on the zillion Gedmatch calculators or other tests I've done. I certainly haven't lost any sleep trying to track it down in my ancestry research.
The more I learn about this DNA stuff the less I know.

23andme has several under 1% for me which is replicated on my ancestry results. 23andme says under 0.1 for Oceanian and Ancestry has it at 1%. So it can be quite possibly be real but there's also a chance it could be "noise". Mine ties in with my family history.

23andme gives me <0,1% Oceanian while the other tests give me higher%.For instance, DNA.LAND (1,4%), FTDNA (<2%), AncestryDNA (1%) and DNA Tribes (1,4%)
My highest oceanian % on Gedmatch is 2%.
