    I knew in the past the FTDNA pack was not covering the tree downstream to Z49/S68. Not sure what is the situation now.

    My personal opinion is that the most convenient test for you is the one at Yseq "R1b-U152 Superclade Panel":

    The total cost is $ 99 + about $ 4/5 for the kit.

    If you had to decide to run the test at FtDna, you should first run the Y37 test, which costs $ 169 and then you should run the "Pack L2" test which costs $ 119. For a total of $ 289

    Furthermore, by performing the test at Yseq:
    1) At a later date, if necessary, you can perform each additional snp test at a cost of $ 18 (instead of $ 39 FtDna);
    2) if you wish to know your Y37 in the future, you can order the YSEQ-Alpha-Beta test at Yseq, which costs $ 85 (instead of $ 169 for FtDna).

    Besides Z49, there may be additional SNPs that yseq tests for that have phylogenically equivalent SNPs to what FTDNA tests for. I simply loaded both lists into a spread sheet to find the duplicate names.

    I was completely wrong about this. I saw a lot of red SNPs in YSeq's tree and assumed they were not covered. That is not the case, the colors do not have any meaning. Therefore, YSeq does offer a very good value.

    Unfortunately, at this moment I do not have the time to perform a specific check.
    I have only done this trivial verification ::
    1) "L2 Pack" by FtDna analyzes 132 snps, including U152 and L2;
    2) "R1b-U152 Superclade Panel", only for L2, analyzes 166 snps, including U152 and L2. Furthermore, this panel contains many other downstream U152 snps (148 snps, for a total of 314 snps; 2.37 times the number of snps tested by "L2 Pack");

    I deduce that "R1b-U152 Superclade Panel", only for the part related to L2, analyzes 32 snps more than the "L2 Pack" of FtDna.
    Let's not forget the only thing that Nino90 knows at the moment is that of belonging to L2.
    By doing the "R1b-U152 Superclade Panel" he will be able to identify his group (if currently known) and any additional snp he will have to analyze will cost him $ 18 instead of $ 39 with FtDna.

    These are some of the reasons that led me to recommend Nino90 and all my Italian U152 friends to run the "R1b-U152 Superclade Panel" at Yseq.
    Obviously this is my opinion at this precise moment.
    Obviously Nino90 is free to perform the test at any company he considers suitable. If he decides to perform the test at FtDna he will certainly not make a mistake.

    I thank FtDna for the projects he designed, a very useful tool for all of us. Obviously when and if FtDna decides to reduce its prices, I will be even more grateful.

    At the moment YSeq's panel perfectly covers my Z49+ S8183+ S22778+ S5490+ Y17179+ FGC6057+ branch (R-Y5383).

    Hey hello ! fellow brothers of lineage ! So i retake the topic that i made somewhere else and ask how can i know my downstream or deep subclades ? i've been tested R-L2 on 23andme, apparently there is an snp test to make ? and second question, is R-L2 an Italian clade generally ? i'm Swiss and for what i know my paternal lineage is here between some times, but the 23andme test reveal to me that i had a 100% italian ancestor between the last 300 years, it would be odd that he is the origin of that paternal clade :p.
