Its probably absorbing Munda like SE Asian or SE Asian part of AASI as well as some of the NE Asian that is present in North India

Generally, S Asians will always score higher E Asian than Europeans and W Asians when substructure is strpped down to the basics. Any researcher that says S Asians don’t have much E Asian is badly mistaken. Geography alone is a clue. Heck it is even reflected in the phenotype.

For me there were a few pleasant surprises from this latest study, one of which is the extent of AASI introgression west of India. I always thought that AASI in Kurds and Iranians showing up in older calculators was nothing more than shared Iran N related shared between Kurds and S Asians. Apparently not the case, because even with sources such as IVC and Turan, I can’t get rid of AASI in them.....

Another thing this study and calculator shows is how genetically similar Kurds/Iranics are to N S Asians. Not what you’d guess from looking at 23andme results, hah

3- From the samples tested, Iranian-Kurds-Afghan Pashtuns and Dluffy scored highest Scythian, with highest score going to an Afghan Pashtun. No surprises considering the historical range of the Saka. Amounts are likely inflated for populations east of India due to a lack of proper E Asian sources.
Siberian_HG is West_Siberian_neolithic sample from SCA paper?

Yes, Daamgaard’s Lake Baikal samples have still not been released. BTW, your dad had the highest total Steppe score (previous page)

Yes, but also interesting is nearly lack of Turan and higher Indus Valley compared to English sample. I wonder what it means. Indus Valley component is pre-Aryan only I suppose?
