Is/was her family based in East Africa by any chance? I can keep running through her coords and see what happens but if she has an as complex background as you say then it might be real cloudy like in my own case.
her mum has grew up in Mozambique was born there but she is very multilingual - so her mums mum line claim bukhari from Uzbekistan syed and the mums dad side is from Iraq in terms of their roots.

Fascinating...goes to show how often majority 'ancestry' doesn't always contribute to a person's culture.

I have seen it pop up here and there, but I think its just a high coverage sample, nothing else.

The only two other Kashmiri (Pandit) samples are themselves quite distant from each other. While this one has higher NE Asian, similar to one of the two KP samples, its IE Steppe admixture is relatively lower, in comparison to both. While its NW AASI is closer to the other KP sample.

To the contrary, it is the exact opposite.

    KPB's distances:

    rakhshakashmiri Rakhsha
    2.58

    Kashmiri Pandit Average
    3.31

Raksha is KPB's biological mother if I stand corrected. On the PCA the 3 samples form their own cluster.

Except that these three, jurble, the lone kp in David's G25 datasheet, and kpb within 'the cluster' have nearly the same distance to one another.

    Yes, that’s my mother.

Jurble is different, well because he is not a Kashmiri Pandit so the point here is moot. Though, Jurble come to think of it now is quite superficially similar to many Gujarati Brahmins sans the Tibetan admixture.

    sample: :Jurble
    distance: 1.6419
    Brahmin_Gujarat: 87
    Alalakh_MLBA_o: 8
    Chokhopani_2700BP: 4

    sample: Kashmiri Pandit:BR Kashmiri Pandit-1
    distance: 1.8748
    Brahmin_Gujarat: 70.5
    Alalakh_MLBA_o: 22
    Chokhopani_2700BP: 4

Are there other Kashmiri Muslim samples? Though outdated, Harappa had my closest population as “Kashmiri” as opposed to “Kashmiri pandit”; same for my parents. I guess I mistakenly attributed that to my slightly higher NE Asian as according to Harappa.
