Actually, Butt is used by the Kashmiri Muslims, whereas the Hindus use Bhat, similar to Dar used by Kashmiri Muslims, while many Kashmiri Pandits use Dhar. This indicates Indian influence. Paharis in the former princely state of J&K did not have Bhat or Butt surnames unless one was a migrant from the valley.

That is exactly what i wanted to say i apologize for not being clear .i read something about the reason being a phonetic shift caused by it being written in sanskrit script vs being written in persian script.

I think this is the most IVC shifted Punjabi I have seen even with the Syed ancestry included.

Makes sense , because with that Arab ancestry there was plenty of Iran_N and AASI, so it must have been higher before.

Can anybody enlighten me on the differences ( if any) between the Shahr_i_ Soktha BA1, BA2 and BA3...?...genoplot has them all in the reference populations.

She has pretty interesting results when using oracles/multiethnic nmonte script on her coordinates. This is using modern averages, the individuals would be much more interesting but would take a lot of pruning. Maybe I'd remove Makrani and Bandari. And Velamas. Lol its long still.

SIS1 is a Turan population but with significant IVC admixture related to later BMAC populations
SIS2 is IVC
SIS3/8728 is a subset of SIS2 , the highest coverage as well as the most applicable to the majority of modern SA populations.

very interesting - i would explain alot of her ancestry on here but its soooooooooo much lol i just explained the surface on what it is for her lol but do you think her aasi is coming from gujerat - her syed side claims is from Iraq - so she did expect something coming as part of some persian side of things - go with the name Qadri/Kadiri

Sounds really interesting, I'm really not too sure cuz its the entire data sheet, proximal sources etc. Very well could be Iraqi, but she does score Yemeni-like ancestry on the standard nmonte calculation and some very very minor east-african ancestry so who knows. Is/was her family based in East Africa by any chance? I can keep running through her coords and see what happens but if she has an as complex background as you say then it might be real cloudy like in my own case.
