Some seem interested to know more, but back off when they have to “download the dna file”, which seems understandable given people are a bit apprehensive about their data, something as personal as their dna.

Anyway, I’m in contact with this Uttarkhand Brahmin(based on his listed geography for grandparents and also his Khas surname). He knows a bit about unilineals but not much more. I might be able to convince him, unless he also has cold feet. His 23andme breakdown is 99.8% South Asian(more than mine), has mtdna M30(like me) but is R1a-Y7.

Kashmiri Pandits does not score like Nepali Brahmins. Actually UP brahmins seems more similar in terms steppe to Iran N ratio. Kashmiri Pandits are more BMAC shifted, and are more Iran N tilted.

Himachal Brahmin seem to be lower Iran though, based on Kenji and his parent's results. Basically somewhere between gangetic brahmins and dogra brahmins but more AASI shifted.

Kashmiri Pandits are kind of the lone rangers among Brahmin groups, their Turan : Steppe ratio is much more , with other Brahmins its basically the reverse , the only thing close would be Mohyals/Dutt types from Punjab.

The Brahmins in the UP group are low quality, Mahadev and Parasar and Tiwari sample (not on G25) are more your typical Gangetic kinds because they form a cline with Bengali Brahmins.

You may be right. Just a hunch of mine.

Bahuns seem to score reasonably different compared to UP Brahmins, though as I see pegasus noted on the next page, some of the UP Brahmin samples are pretty terribleco

This is the same reason why I cluster close to Nepali Brahmins, its my low Iran N and high steppe than other ramgarhias, and it is the same reason why I can be modeled as less AASI gangetic Brahmin.
