Pakistani Muslims(the ones that listed their ancestry) were conspicuously absent from my DNA relatives for a while despite having people who were originally from there and migrated to India(Hindu/Sikh). Now they're starting to show up too. I think some Bengali person showed up recently as well. It really is starting to look like I've got relatives from all corners of the region. In fact I think I may have more DNA relatives from north/central India than south, though this also could be due to sampling biases.

If you get both of your parents on 23andMe, you can filter relatives by each parent. Results that match you but neither of your parents may just be IBS matches. This would mean they match with you due to common broad ancestry, and not any recent genealogical relation - European matches on 23andMe are the best example of this.

What if I’ve got one parent and they match me and them? Does the filter still show?

Yeah, if you have one parent the filter will still be there.

The filter shows but just for your father. The matches that don't pass through this filter would either be related to your mother, or will just match neither.
