West Eurasian is a broad term. UP jatts and haryana jatts are same, just got divided with modern division. Sindhis are high Iran N, while Hindu jats are observed to be high steppe. So different west eurasian source. Although I can still picture her as a Hindu jat easily.

I feel like that people of other nationalities can be terrible judges. Here are some hilariously off things said about me by non indians, or indians from completely different parts of India than me.

Random punjabi guy I met at the hospital: "I think you're middle eastern (whatever that means)"

Iranian girl I met: "You look like mexican/italian blend"

Another iranian girl I met: "Are you south iranian?"

Afghan uber driver: "Are you afghan"

    Lebanese friend: "Are you afghan"

I THOROUGHLY disagree with all these opinions. I don't think that people from other countries are necessarily good judges of what we do or don't look like because they haven't seen the diversity of a country of 1 billion people. Yes, I am lighter skinned and have somewhat different features than your stereotypical indian in the states(something along the lines of Aziz ansari). But this does not mean I am not indian. Indians know and acknowledge this quite obviously.

People of other nationalities won't so they will attempt to put you in a category that makes more sense to them, or attempt to affiliate you with them in a friendly way, not one that is correct. It makes more sense to people to think

    Attachment 28309

    and

    Attachment 28307

are different nationalities, rather than acknowledge the diversisty of a country of 1 billion people. It's funny because so many users here look so much more NW than me. I'm sure they've heard all kinds of stuff.
I’ve gotten so tired of regular people’s opinions on what others look like that I disregard it completely.

I’ve been told by a lot of people that I don’t look Indian or that I look ambiguous/Middle Eastern, but the same people are the first to point out how “similar” I look to every other South Asian they see on the street including those who look nothing like me at all, while never comparing me to someone of another race. A lot of people are just ignorant and cannot connect the dots.

This is stuff I mainly get from my peers which leads me to another point-we need to be honest and realize that most American 20 somethings don’t know what the heck they’re talking about on racial/ethnic matters. I’ve seen so many ABCDs that look like Raj Koothrapali or Anushka Shetty start thinking they don’t look Indian just cause some 21 year old white girl told them so.

    Context guys, it’s everything.

    Definitely not on topic.

Let's steer clear of random photos and essentially ethnicity classifications.

It's an ambiguous thread with unclear boundaries but we've managed to get to almost 400 pages.

Mind you, with alot of casualties on the way.
