If I may ask, what lot is it? You had mentioned some connection to Muhials, right?

Well Mohyals are just a part of the many clans of Brahmans in Potohar. My mother's family were part of the Mohyal bunch until many centuries ago. They are one of the more numerous among the clans. But we are all pretty much similar.

I don’t think Potoharis are that distinct. They certainly aren’t genetically distinct and they aren’t distinct in their appearance either.

Culturally, they are quite distinct, from the neighboring regions. And eventually, its culture that influences identities.

I can assure you I don't. I can dig up a picture of me without facial hair hair from 6-7 years ago. I sort of get the "Punjabi" Christian Bale comparisons but that man looks nothing like Christian Bale.

Only 25-30%? Do you have any data/statistics back this up? My maternal family (pind is in Hoshiarpur) lived in Sri Ganganagar before migrating to California and it's literally full of Gurdwaras everywhere based on my research. So much in fact that I think it should be part of Indian Punjab. It has a huge border with Pakistani Punjab as well.

Our eyes are different as well and I consider that my most distinct feature.

Culture/identify aside, check the latest G25-modern-based PCA I did in the G25 thread. You are pulled slightly towards the SwatIA/Khatri subcluster (but not as much as Amber -- your Rajput counterpart), but you're pretty close to the main line.

In a place such as South Asia, you cannot discount the culture, beliefs, traditions/legends and identities that develop under their influence. And Potohar has been a very conservative area from that perspective, what population genetics indicates is no doubt a reality, however the beliefs and traditions that developed over hundred, or perhaps even thousands of years, they exercise a major pull over people and their attitudes.

I can see people finding resemblance to famous people, but overall I would think S Asian users look pretty distinct from Whites. Those resemblances often turn to be very uncanny. You kinda look like Prateek Babbar to me. I remember that guy from Aarakshan movie.

Sapporo does have the Christian Bale look haha particularly in the eye region. Bale has a bit boney face while Sapporo(dare I say) much slender.
